Seting autoresponder

In order for you to be able to collect your visitors’ particulars, as well as follow up with them, you need an autoresponder to do the job for you.
For the benefit of those who do not know what it is, an autoresponder is a service that has the features of allowing you to create a simple form to capture your visitors’ personal information (such as first name and email address), storing it in their database, and also to help you send out emails to them as and when you wish.
What I’m going to cover in this post is to teach you how you can easily set up an autoresponder and start collecting your visitors’ personal particulars and get in contact with them in 4 simple steps. Don’t worry, I can assure you that it is extremely easy to set one up, as long as you follow what I’m going to share with you in the next few sections.
1. Signing Up For An Autoresponder Service
This is the first step toward setting up your autoresponder – You need to sign up for an autoresponder service. As to which autoresponder service is reliable, I strongly recommend either Aweber or GetResponse.
2. Creating A Web Form
After you’ve signed up for an autoresponder service, the next step would be to create a web form (which you need to use to capture your visitors’ first name and email address).
You can specify the information which you like to collect from your visitors. In general, I would just collect their first name and email address. You may collect other information such as the country they are from, their contact numbers, etc.
However, you may want to bear in mind not to collect too much information about your visitors, as they may not feel comfortable in giving certain information to you (such as their contact number or mailing address).
3. Creating Follow Up Messages
Once you’ve captured your visitors information, you will want to follow up with them and build a relationship with them – The stronger the relationship you build up with them, the more they’ll listen to you (and get any products and/or services you recommend).
What you can do for the start is to queue up approximately 5 to 7 messages (and spread them out evenly – you may wish to send them 1 email message every 3 to 4 days).
In each of these messages, you can either tell them more about you (along with your expertise and experience in the niche topic that you are in), or you can share with them some tips that you’ve discovered, or recommend products and/or services to them.
4. Test, Test and Test
When your autoresponder is up and running, make sure you test out your autoresponder by keying in your own email accounts into the web forms. The reason is this – You will want to check whether or not the autoresponder sends out the correct messages (in the sequence you want), and also whether or not you’ll receive messages from your autoresponders.
You may want to try signing up with free email accounts as well (such as using your Hotmail email, your Yahoo email, your Gmail email, etc.) and see if your email messages get delivered as well.
So you can see from the 4 steps I’ve outlined above, it’s actually very easy to set up your autoresponder and start collecting your visitors’ personal information and build up a relationship with them.
It is not a must to collect your visitors’ information, however the thing is this – If you do not collect their information, there’s no way you can get in touch with them after they have left your website.
